Tasso+ is a collection device the customer puts on the upper arm, where a small lancet opens the skin and blood is collected into an attached tube. There is no fingertip stick and no squeezing of a finger, which is why the collected volume is usually more consistent than a finger prick gives.
For a buyer the device is a product decision as much as a clinical one, because the customer holds it and forms an opinion about your brand from it. The tube volume still limits which parameters you can offer, so the device does not remove the question of what a laboratory can measure from a small sample.
Ask these questions before you commit a product launch to the device.
- Which parameters has the laboratory validated from a Tasso+ collection?
- How much blood does one device collect, and what happens when it collects less?
- Can the device be supplied inside a kit under your own brand?
- Who holds stock of the device in Europe, and what is the reorder lead time?
